Originally a Sludge Metal/ Pornogrind band in the vein of S Club 7, the six likely lads and one fervent feline of Animaux (an-ee-mo) decided to leave their clean-cut rocker days behind them and at the ripe young age category of 16 to 18 picked up their high school brass instruments to descend into the dark and dangerous world of pop/funk music. In the year or so since their debut performance to a packed house at the Evelyn Hotel on boxing day 2010, Animaux have worked tirelessly to hone their craft, playing shows at venues such as The Corner Hotel, The Metro Theatre and The Northcote Social Club, performing at festivals such as Moomba, Warrandyte and St Kilda Festivals, and sharing the stage with some of Australia and indeed the World’s finest including Trombone Shorty (USA), Saskwatch, Eagle & The Worm, Stonefield, Oh Mercy, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard just to name a few.

Mixed by Adam Rhodes (The Cat Empire, Angus and Julia Stone, Jackson Jackson) at Sing Sing Recording Studios, Paradise is the second stand-alone single released by Animaux this year. Incorporating tasty horn melodies, sultry backing vocals and a tight groove, Paradise proves to be Animaux’s most polished release to date.
