In a time where it increasingly seems like bands are over-recycling hooks and melodies from songs that weren't much chop in the first place, it's refreshing to hear a band that are original yet familiar and care more about rocking out than rocking the best hair-do - Army of Champions are that band.

Since 2009, Army of Champions have been ripping out tunes catchier than the common cold and giving their all at shows, impressing crowds locally and interstate. Building on this success, the all-killer-no-filler EP “If only just to hold” was released into the wild in 2011 by Arrest records and was quickly picked up and spun by Triple Zed and Triple J and also saw the band support local and international touring acts.

After going through a few line up changes on the way and finally becoming a five piece, the 'Champs are taking their sound to the next level with their upcoming album. Soon to be released on Arrest Records, 'Animal verses Man' provides a soundtrack of experiences in the form of full bore rockers, mid-paced sing-alongs and quiet slow dancers in the vein of Springsteen, Against Me!, The Clash and The Bouncing Souls.

With local and national shows in the pipeline, two releases and even some new material, check out Army of Champions soon, so you can say "I saw that band before they exploded!" .
