Collie
One Night Stand Competition
winners 'This End Up' are under the microscope this week...
Describe your music...
Fresh, New, Melodic Indie Rock.
What did your mums say when you told them you'd won?
They were ecstatic and screaming and extremely excited they and they couldnt believe we won - Brennan's Mum,Dad and Brother as they were standing right next to Brennan when he received the call.
What made you guys get a band together?
We all got together for a jam after school one day and played Clocks by Cold Play and it sounded awesome so then we thought that wasnt too bad so we started jamming more and more and the whole five of us started to sound like a real band and it just went on from there!
Do you think living in Collie has shaped your sound at all?
Yeah we guess it has because there is a lot of talent musically in Collie that we have been involved with and influenced by (For example Shaun Sibbes and Lee Jones who are both in Eskimo Joe are from Collie) and we are lucky that the town supports us by letting us play at different venues.
What's the biggest gig you've played so far?
We did our own rock show for our cd single launch and we had over 350 fans that came along to support us which was awesome but one of the other gigs we played at was Elevator 07 Battle of the Bands which we happened to win and that was to a crowd of about 600.
Which band on the line up at ONS are you most excited about rubbing shoulders with?
We are just totally excited to be able to rub shoulders with all of the bands on the day. They all rock!
What do you do when you're not making music?
We all attend school during the day and after that we all have our own individual hobbies which range from basketball, football and skate boarding etc.. we are all great mates so when we are not making music we are always together hanging out with our other friends.
What have you got planned for the future?
To continue writing songs to complete our album and also to do a video clip of our song Sailor Girl in the next few months and hope to play at lots of different venues and festivals across Australia. We would just like to say a huge thankyou to Stones Throw for winning the One Night Stand and also to Triple J for running and organising these great events which give young bands the opportunity to showcase their talents. ROCK ON AND THANKS AGAIN FOR CHOOSING US...
