Nth Degree, comprising vocalist Michael Sheppard and Keys James Teh, is a band dedicated to unpredictability and constant improvement. Having met when they were both children and becoming firm friends after five minutes, James and Michael spent the next decade or so expanding their musical horizons and increasing their level of expertise on a plethora of instruments. Music has always been a passion for James and Michael and in recent years it has become a love of a wide array of genres. Out of this love of different kinds of music, Nth Degree was born. Nth Degree strive to make every piece unique, high quality and extremely melodic. Their main influences range from progressive rock/metal (E.G. Dream Theater, Transatlantic and Porcupine Tree) to alternative (E.G. The Whitlams and Ben Folds), gothic (E.G. Within Temptation and Stream of Passion) and classical (E.G. Brahms, Liszt and Dvorak). The Nth Degree sound is highly orchestrated with an ethereal predilection, but most pieces are heavy on groove and catchy hooks. The lyrics of the band try to communicate on a deeply emotional level, while still being able to be identified with by listeners. Nth Degree aim to write and one day record an album.
