Growing up in the Victorian town of Shepparton honing his skills as a singer-songwriter, a move to Melbourne was inevitable for Adam Toms.

Not long after making the move he teamed up with Aria award winning producer/engineer Doug Roberts - best known for his work with artists such as The Badloves, Chocolate Starfish, Paul Kelly, Boom Crash Opera, Mick Jagger and Chris Wilson. Doug introduced Adam to Peter Farnan (ex Boom Crash Opera) which proved to be such a successful collaboration, six of the eleven songs to eventually make it onto Adam's debut album were penned by the combination.

With Doug Roberts back in the engineer's seat a co-production between the three artists seemed the appropriate team to finish the job. Assembling an all-star cast of players for the album they headed into Doug Roberts' studio in March 2005.

Through it all, the production team were determined upon a sound that would showcase Adam's ability to soar across a huge range, or when necessary bring it back down to a low dramatic feel, and that the one constant would be Adam's distinctive and honest voice. While his influences vary he has a strong appreciation for artists like Ben Harper who have the ability to write an emotional ballad or a groovy blues tune to a heavy rock sound.
