Georgi Kay is a 19 year old artist from Perth, WA.

At the age of 10 left-handed Georgi taught herself to play her dad’s electric guitar upside down, listening to his diverse range of music – from Bruce Springsteen to The Verve, Rolling Stones and Beatles to more modern Arctic Monkeys and Coldplay, as well as Grace Jones, BB King, Elvis and Michael Jackson. A few years later, everything fell into place when Georgi saw Sarah Blasko and Bertie Blackman play at a local festival and she immediately decided to form a band.

At 17, Georgi Kay won the Song Of The Year WAMi for "Breakfast in Bedlam". She is also the co-writer and vocalist on Ivan Gough & Feenixpawl's track "In My Mind", which won Best Dance Release at the 2012 ARIA Awards. In between, she has been working on songs for her debut album. With influences such as The Horrors, Florence & The Machine and Depeche Mode, it promises to be a somewhat darker affair.

Latest song Ipswich draws on Georgi’s love of horror and supernatural films and references the Salem witch hunts. She wrote it while vacuuming the house.

Georgi recently toured nationally supporting Alpine on their A Is For Alpine tour.

Stay tuned for an EP to be released soon.

There's something slightly dark and off-kilter about this song, which is what really draws me in.
