Engaging Tasmanian singer/songwriter Rory Campbell teamed up with chic guitarist Sam Smets, unflappable multi-instrumentalist David Elliston and zany cellist/bass player Nick Mercer to make what has become known as the ‘Riot Act’. Based in Hobart/Kingston, these guys blend of a wide range of musical influences from country, funk, trad folk, reggae, afro-beat, blues and punk into their original songs. With their upbeat attitude, emphasis on danceability and penchant for good times, they’ve aptly coined their own little genre as ‘world party rock’.
