‘The Flumes’ seamlessly weave the organic tones of our ancient friend The Harp - with solid grooves and stylin’ rhythms - creating a lushly funky, dark and sparkling, cinematic brew.
Harper Kayt Wallace immerses her innate melodic sense in a 36-string Electric Harp. Her sultry vocals infuse the combo as fellow musical adventurer Stephan Beattie lays down slippery bass grooves and guitar rhythms. Drummer Damien Jones completes the rhythm section on skins and percussion.
Hailing from North Queensland, The Flumes are currently residing on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, where they are continuing to build their reputation for aural uniqueness with their groove based tunes embellished with melodic meanderings.
Besides live shows at festivals and soirees up and down QLD’s east coast, The Flumes have produced music for stage, screen and pyro-theatre. Support slots include; Stringmansassy, Sarah McLeod and the Violent Femmes.
The Flumes have recently finished their 2010 ep "Lunar Sea".
