Unearthed Artists We Like: Bec Plath

The Bloodpoets are Tom Murphy, Jason Marles, Bec Plath, Jake Parker and Todd Orchard. Local to Brisbane, the band toured heavily in 2009 and released a film clip for their single Borderline off of their debut album "Polarity".

From this point, the band took “Borderline” internationally receiving airplay on Oz shows across America, Germany and Canada. Most notably was the addition of Borderline on Zone FM, listing the band as the hot find of the week on their website. After the major success on radio and television that has saw their second single picked up by Triple J and have begun their second album with ARIA award winning producer Magoo in 2010. Lead single “Dance” will be officially launched mid-year with another national tour, including an appearace at Perth's "One Movement" Showcase.

The musical direction for the band is to write non-genre specific music but to highlight different musical elements that makes music a joy. Be that ambient instrumentals, 2m 15 sec pop ditties, or sex charged dance songs!

I enjoyed this. At times it's like Elliott Smith fronting You Am I; a near-perfect blend of vocal sweetness and crunchy guitars.
