Inspired by a lack of inspiration, driven by doubt, standing on the shoulders of all that is good in guitar music, Winter is a group built on the foundations of old-school quality pop, blues-based rock, and acoustic folk... Constantly developing, ever-evolving, Winter's line-up has changed a number of times since its conception two years ago. The brain-child of singer-songwriter Len, Winter started it's life out as a few simple blues-based melodies on the papper-ridden floors of a dark room in Hamilton. The melodies were accompanied by chords, riffs, lyrics; became songs. Winter took her first determined steps into the Newcastle originals scene as a solo act, with hardy receptions at all venues. Soon Winter transformed into an acoustic duo, performing sparsely and writing frequently. Winter (as both a solo, and a duo) has played at such places as the Lass O'Gowrie (Wickham), the Royal Inn Hotel (Waratah), and SJ's (Hamilton). Winter's current line-up consists of Len and Marc, and offers more than ever before. The group is a blend of acoustic guitars, stirring vocal harmonies, catchy melodies, raw-edged harmonica, with a pinch of banjo and ukulele.
