2012 saw the vibrant Miss Elm progress to a collective of quirk, sugar, pop, jazz, and all things in between. The name is fast spreading as a cohesive four-piece that with front woman Erin Harrington’s high-pitched yet intriguing voice amalgamate with a gluey rhythm section including James Peeters on Drums, James Lord on Bass and the sweet addictive tones of Lucinda Bopf’s flute, melodica, and backing vocals. The word is quickly spreading that this energetic act who project fresh and addictive pop hooks are here to stay on the Australian music scene. Late 2012 saw them sharing the lineup with some of the finest talents this country has seen at Caloundra Music Festival (John Butler Trio, Ball Park Music, and backstage jamming with Trombone Shorty) and Brisbane’s own successful Red Deer Festival (featuring Clare Bowditch and Regurgitator).
Their online presence continues to grow, with their hit "Little Trees" music video premiering in early 2012,and the newly-released video "Space", a '70s comedy with a supergalactic twist. Fresh from their April 2013 East Coast tour, Miss Elm have now launched their debut EP, "Idle Away", and released a second single, "Growing Pains". Their truly unique sound is generating buzz in Brisbane and surrounds, and refuses to be forgettable.

Baby Song
rating:  4/5
A nice little pop song, overflowing with melodica and fizzy energy that disguises something a bit more sinister beneath.

This is a lovely, polished, snappy little number, infused with a bit of jazz vocal and some great backing by the band. Nicely done.
