Little Scout are a group of friends from Brisbane, Australia who have dedicated their lives to crafting perfect indie pop music. If they do not succeed in this mission, there is a very certain chance that their legs may fall off and they will be banished to a remote island to live in shame.

Things are going well for the four-piece who began their journey in May 2008. Their debut, self-produced EP titled “The Dead Loss EP” has been well received by both their mothers and people in the land of radio. In fact, Little Scout was lucky enough to be named as one of Triple J’s ‘Next Crop’ Artists for 2008 and made it to the State finals of the MTV Kickstart Competition.

Winding down from a regional Queensland tour with Josh Pyke, the band recently performed shows with The Middle East and Pony Up (Canada). Little Scout are recording a follow-up EP in July with Brisbane engineer Neil Coombe at The White Room Studios in the gorgeous surrounds of Mt Nebo (The Go-Betweens, The John Steel Singers).

The band packed as many instruments as they could into the overhead compartments and joined psych-popsters Belles Will Ring and party-starters Philadelphia Grand Jury for an East Coast tour earlier in 2009. They also had lots of fun playing the Playground Weekender Festival and made friends playing with the likes of Holly Throsby, Leader Cheetah, The John Steel Singers, Cuthbert and the Night Walkers and Cloud Control. Hopefully they might catch you soon for a cleansing ale, a tub of natural yoghurt and a sing-a-long. Not necessarily in that order. Much love.
