"And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside;
and the birds came and devoured them."
A Sydney based indie four-piece, The Waysiders, have a sound that has been compared to Sonic Youth and The Velvet Underground. A distinct mix of 1980’s garage drone and melancholic pop, the band’s sound combines a grinding rhythm section with the angst of contorted ethereal guitars, drenched in a drearily happy undertone.
After having played alongside some of the hottest emerging bands, including Cut off your Hands, Gerling, Mercy Arms, Van She, Ghostwood, The Holidays, Plug in City, Dardenelles, The Soft Tigers, and Children Collide, The Waysiders recorded a string of tracks at Soundworks studios with Peter Mayes of Pnau.
They are currently recording additional tracks and hope to release an EP in the coming months. In the meantime, the band are continuing to captivate audiences across the city and are planning to extend touring nationwide.
