Mile End are a Perth based four piece band. Their music has been described as having a dense, textured sound; gritty and beautiful all at once. They write slow-burn odysseys using distorted reverb drenched guitars, wailing, melodic vocals that soar over a pulsating rhythm section that build into violent crescendos.

Over the years the band has received praise from local media for their intense live shows, building their reputation as “underground favourites”, leading to support slots with national acts such as Brian Henry Hooper, Witch Hats, Bat Rider, This Is Your Captain Speaking, Black Level Embassy and Inappropriate Tough Guy Behaviour.

In 2007, They recorded a 4 track demo which was picked up by radio stations RTR FM and TRIPLE J and in December they embarked on their first tour of Melbourne..

2008 marked the release of “RUMBLEFISH”. The four track EP received much praise, being described by reviewers as a “music-noir classic” and “a dreamy shoegazing piece of near perfection…. resulting in one of the best local EPs this town has seen so far this year.” RTR FM continued to support the band by playing tracks on the radio, picking the CD as a feature album and inviting the band to play their annual In The Pines festival at the Somerville auditorium.

Mile End have spent 2009 continuing to entertain audiences with their unique sound and were included in the 2009 WAMI festival where they caught the attention of Matt McDonald (President of the CMJ music festival) who stated during an interview for RTR FM that he was impressed with the bands sound. In October, Mile End were included in the One Movement Fringe Festival lineup, receiving a great reaction from conference delegates, audience and critics alike.

The band are currently working hard on new material and concentrating on their first full length album scheduled for an early 2010 release.

“while the recorded sound makes you introspective, the live sound had the opposite effect, making you feel in harmony with the night.”

“the band justified the hype that is beginning to build around their name and demonstrated why people should look forward to a studio release later in the year.”

“This is a great disc, and Mile End have a sound that is truly their own”

“Mile End has mastered a king of pretty noise-rock that might make scraping your knees or loosing a tooth seem romantic - it's gritty and beautiful all at once”
Drum Media

“Big things are coming from Mile End”
