Sunflower are a part-time experimental, twice-a-week psychedelic, graveyard-shift blues and full time alternative rock band known for notoriously wild and passionate onstage shows, trademark magnetic double-neck guitar work, writing profusely and staying alive.

Having completed a debut album with producer/engineer Jeff Lovejoy (The Cruel Sea, Powderfinger, The Resin Dogs, Screamfeeder), Sunflower are promoting their their single 'Ready'' in the lead up to the anticipated album release in May 2009. Making the album the band carried in the same attitude they developed with their first demo disc, recorded raw and live in October 2007 and highlighting creative and engaging song-writing talents in unrefined, undiluted sound- A quality the Sunflower champion as a fundamental foundation of any rock band worth their salt. Sunflower have also recently undertaken a successful first east coast tour, and have now been hand-picked by Melbourne juggernaut Mammal as support for several dates on their upcoming national album tour.

Since exploding onto their local scene in early 2007, Sunflower have gained momentum like a freight train from hell, steaming through shows in their home state and progressing to playing host at premier venues and events across the east-coast. Playing live is the band’s passion, their lifeblood and musical livelihood. Just as likely to give you a blood nose as make you smile, Sunflower seek to create Rock’n’Roll from its glory days in their own design.
