It's been a big year for Kira Puru & the Bruise. Having collaborated with Paul Mac, Blackfella Films, Mark Opitz ans Sonar Music, stunning audiences at industry showcase festival, BIGSOUND Live, touring with Kitty, Daisy & Lewis, The Preatures and Clairy Browne & the Bangin' Rackettes, and winning Triple J Unearthed's APRA/AMCOS Song Summit competition, Kira Puru & the Bruise are on the road again to mark the release of their much awaited new single 'Step Into the Light'.

KP+tB will be hitting venues in Manly, Sydney, Wollongong, Melbourne, Castlemaine, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Newcastle, Canberra and Tasmania in October & November with their ever-evolving brand of 'Doom-Pop'.

Their "genre-defying" live shows have earned them a throng of dedicated fans Australia-wide as well as industry accolades. Melbourne's Lanie Lane has given props, "This woman is a force of nature. She rocks my word and her live performance is just incredible"

Jo Michelmore of Music blog 'It's My Kind of Scene' heralded KP+tB as their favourite showcasing act from this year's BIGSOUND "without a doubt" and followed with "a performance I'm not going to forget for a long, long time. I'm going to compare other gigs to it and it's going to take a very talented person and/or band to live up to it"

Paul Mac is undoubtedly fond, "Every now and then a band comes along that feels as real as the Birthday Party, and not just a celebration of the latest mixture of hairstyle and genre. Kira Puru & the Bruise are one of those bands. They actually feel dangerous, and you know they "live" it instead of write "about" it. About f*ing time. I love this band"

Sydney’s Brag was similarly enthusiastic, "Sharon Jones-meets-Ella Fitz pipes, flirty menace and whip-tight, black singlet-clad … slice of badass:”
