Ambitious, exciting, and always looking for new answers to the eternal questions of life, love and all thats in-between, the Seabellies are unique. Swapping instruments throughout the set, the bands onstage presence is akin to bands like Architecture in Helsinki, Broken Social Scene and the Go! Team those who refuse to be boxed into the traditions of four beat rocknroll.

The Seabellies have established themselves within the Newcastle, Sydney, Wollongong, Brisbane and Melbourne music scenes, playing at such venues as The Hopetoun, The Annandale, The Esplanade, The Troubadour, the Oxford Tavern and of course the mighty Cambridge. The 'Bellies have also supported artists such as Augie March, Something For Kate, Softlightes (US), Evermore (NZ), Dan Kelly, The Veils (UK) Expatriate and The Cops.

To add to their great fortunes The Seabellies have featured in lineups such as Australia's very first V FESTIVAL alongside artists including Beck, Soulwax, Jarvis Cocker, Pet Shop Boys, The Pixies, Gnarls Barkley, The Rapture, Pheonix and many more. The Seabellies have also been on the bill for The Essential festival (feat. Gerling and Dappled Cities), Strikeback (feat. The Sleepy Jackson, Josh Pyke, Wolf and Cub) and Peats Ridge Festival (feat. Bluebottle Kiss, iOTA, Pivot).

Along the way the 'bellies have won the NationalGarage to V Competition, beating 433 other bands nationally, the Newcastle University Band Competition and The Newcastle Music Week Industry Showcase Competition. Amongst this the 'bellies found time to record their debut EP 'Wave Your Fingers To Make The Winters' with Chris Townend (Augie March, Art Of Fighting, The Valentinos, Portishead) and assistant engineers Simon Berkfinger and Bourke Reid from Gerling and is out now, and into its second run!
