Unearthed Artists We Like: The Basics

NEW EP TITLED 'IN TENTS' - Three tracks from the EP are featured here 'BACK AGAIN' 'BRIDGET' and 'GET FREE' . The other track 'PASSER BY' can be heard at www.myspace.com/crosseyedmarytheband

Cross-Eyed Mary is a three piece rock/pop band, born and bred in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne in 2001 under the ridiculous guise of 'Salad Monkey'.

After coming to our senses, we decided on a name change, and settled upon the slightly (but only slightly) less ridiculous name of 'Cross-Eyed Mary'.

We're not a band to be pigeon-holed and our music has been described in reviews as 'Liverpool beat Cavern Club', thru 'old school blues' to a tinge of 'chicken pickin' country.

Just returned to Melbourne from a tour of the east coast with The Basics on their 'Suitcase Full of Empties' tour.
