Northlane was formed in west Sydney, early 2009 as a 5 piece with high aspirations to make a difference and leave their mark, with something fresh. After a year of hard work, developing their sound and local fan base, Northlane are on track to making this vision a reality. They have tuned their craft to forge a unique sound, drawing primarily on elements of metalcore and prog and established themselves with almost 2 dozen Sydney & Newcastle shows in their first 6 months. They recently scored a 7/10 review from ukmetal underground putting them onto the webzine’s hot list, soley based upon the demos on their myspace. In addition to this, Northlane have begun recording an EP titled “Hollow” which will be released in early January 2010, supported by their first extensive tour of the east coast. With these upcoming events locked and loaded, Northlane are a band to keep tabs on.
