Caper - Rapper
Caper was born in Whyalla, South Australia. Raised by his mother, with his brother and sister, he has never met his father. A lifetime spent facing adversity; Caper grew up less fortunate and lost his brother and mother to heart disease. Remaining strong, Caper moved to Adelaide to pursue an AFL career. However, music soon became his main focus and he established himself as an original lyricist, producing his sound and honing his craft.
Caper has a unique and uplifting sound to deliver to the hip hop scene. Rapping insightful lyrics inspired by the highs and lows of life. Caper’s word pronunciation is quite distinctive as such that he roll’s his R’s which is inherited from his native heritage tribe ‘Narungga’. This can sometimes be mistaken as an American accent.
Caper made national & international headlines in June 2011 when his anti-racist video 'How Would You Like To Be Me' was banned from Facebook after one complaint labelled it 'too offensive'. The track sparked debate but was re-instated with the help of his fans. In 2010, Caper's life story was captured in the award winning documentary 'Chasing SHADOWS' (airing Australia wide on ABC 1 Art Scape) gaining him exposure to a national TV audience.
Recently, Caper collaborated with US Rapper ‘Angle Haze’ who is tipped to be the next big thing in the hip hop world. The track is soon to be released.
Caper’s stirring messages and catchy tunes are now also reaching international audiences through his debut EP ‘Believe’ gaining popularity on online radio networks and music sites. His reputation is growing as a talented rapper, and there is no doubt; Caper has arrived.
