Every once in a while, something comes along that just works. Everything about it seems to make sense and more importantly; sound great!

This is most definitely the case for Australian quartet DrawCard.

The four members’ origins lay within the beachside suburbs of Queenslands, Sunshine Coast. The band has been playing on the Australian music scene for the past 5 years and prior to that have been in other music projects for most of their childhood and teenage years.

Their longevity and never give up attitude is paying off, their highly anticipated debut album “Modern Rivalry” has just hit.

The album was mixed in Weed, California by industry veteren Sylvia Massy for LOUD SCIENCE, who's credits include working with artists such as Tool and producing many popular artists including the Red Hot Chili Peppers, COG, Sevendust and Powerman 5000 to name a few.

Drawing influences from artists such as Foo Fighters, Anberlin, Story of the year, Saosin the guys inject their own experiences and talent into a unique style which has been described as “New rock with all the sensibilities of catchy pop, and edgy enough to hold your interest..”.

Paul writes about the album “It was an awesome experience to write an album. I often find myself writing and blending many styles and themes together, and this was no exception. With an album of 12 or so songs you have the freedom and time to create a journey for the listener. There is a song for everyone, and I think everyone will be able to relate to the songs and lyrics one way or another”.

Having so far funded everything independently, the band is ready to move into the international marketplace.

Having recently supported internationally successful bands such as Taking Back Sunday, Thursday, Dead Letter Circus, Underoath, Saosin, Senses Fail, BodyJar, Anti Flag, Parkway Drive and The Angels, DrawCard are well on their way to joining these bands on the international scene.

So what’s on the cards for the guys?
Touring and working on building a name for themselves across the country.

DrawCard will head over to the states to embark on their first international tour in 2010.

Don't miss them!
