RUNAWAY IDOL LAUNCH

The Urban Cowboy Band launched the single Runaway Idol at Hot Cross Rock on March 13th

The southern rock outfit materialized the new release during ‘a fusion of symphonic rhythm and blues’ with the WA Symphonic Wind Ensemble on the Saturday evening

Hot Cross Rock was a major event presented by The City of Bayswater

The alluring and powerful 6 piece sermonized with a song that transformed those gathered on the banks of the Swan River as though they had been baptized by the waters of pure rock and roll

The UCB are comprised of vocalist the Urban Cowboy (former solo/special guest vocalist Rod Grljusich), lead and highly respected guitarist Tom Sterle, drummer Andrew Shaw, bass guitarist Jack Sterle (all formerly from Centrefold), Duncan Strachan (Laced Affair) on rhythm guitar and introducing Mitch Tighe on keyboards

Written and composed by Tom Sterle, Runaway Idol creates the perfect rock pulpit for the Urban Cowboy to evangelize to the converted, the committed, the lost, the unredeemed and those who want to rise again..

The single is the band’s second release in six months with Washed attracting air play from Perth’s only dedicated country radio station Country 101.7 FM and providing the opportunity to support Jimmy Barnes at the renown Doodlakine gig last October

The UCB also supported Adam Brand in November 08

Both singles were recorded at Witzend Studios, mixed and mastered by Alan Dawson. Special thanks to Keiran Dent, Haydn Bishop (Hundred Acre Wood) and Vassya Shevtsov (Hailmary) for work on Washed

Both singles are released independently and available for purchase on line. For details on how contact theurbancowboy@bigpond.com

Hot Cross Rock marks the end of band’s ‘Great Southern Revival’ tour

Pan International Events have engaged the band to tour later in the year
