If ever there were a band who personified the exuberance, optimism and free-spirited nature of youth, it would be StormChasers. Listen up, Funk/Soul brothers and sisters; this 8-piece crew from Brisbane is here to make their way into your heart and provide many a soundtrack for your youth.

Their particular brand of funk/soul/pop sets dance floors alight – horns, funky keyboard lines, electronic
and big, bold beats, as well as huge, beautiful harmonies. It pretty much makes them a perfect complement to a night on the tiles.

The crew, a collection of stupendously good-looking and great-sounding boys and girls, none older than 21, have been making their way into the minds and hearts of the Australian music-loving community, supporting acts such as The Beards and The Good Ship in 2012, as well as selling out venues in Brisbane and South-East Queensland. Yet to venture further south, they will be releasing singles (and touring) in late 2012 and early 2013, with a debut album due in June/July 2013, with a national tour to follow.

Their release earlier in 2012, Homemade Lemonade has sold a mountain of units on iTunes and Bandcamp, earning the band a tonne of kudos.

“…These guys kill it on a regular basis with reggae sass and dirty blues bursting out of saxophones, ukuleles, harmonicas and brass.” – themusic.com.au

Love those subterranean horns.

A super joyous tune! It didn't win me over at first, but it's definitely grown on me. Maybe it'll grow on you too.

I like how the freaky combination of ukelele, brass and hippie female backing vox all ends up sounding perfectly normal.

Love the brass injection in parts. Really upbeat, optimistic track. I put money on at least one school making it their leaving song.
