You get the feeling with some songwriters that music is a sacred language needing a code book and secret handshake to decipher. But with Heidi's music, there's no pretence. It's just a song being sung. Heidi says that what she does is an absolute pleasure.

In 2005 Heidi flung open the curtains on her beloved art form with 'Angel Song', an exquisite piece of sonic landscape that clings to the hope that we are not alone in our deepest moments. This song won Heidi a couple of songwriting awards and accompanied Heidi on a national TV debut.

As with the fickle nature of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder that Heidi experiences, her music also reaches into the pocket of happiness and grabs a few pennies. 'Another Day', 'Hope u b Happy' and 'Sunshine' are all testament to hope and joy.

Major gigs include Moomba and International Day of 'all sorts of things' where a musician and deft public speaker is a double whammy. And Heidi has a few good stories to tell that could very well inspire a different world based on forgiveness.

A no-expense spared demo EP launched in 2010, filled the bellies of many music epicures. Rock track 'AWOL' lifted itself to Number 2 on the Australian Internet Radio charts.

Just don't expect to find Heidi sloughing the public music bars for attention. All her gigs are out in the community, where music still lives. After all, it's in places like the psych ward that Heidi says music matters most.

Give someone another person's song, and they will sing. Give them their own song, and they will speak.
