Babylon Burning have opened a fresh chapter in 2013 with the launch of their new single ‘Break the Chains’.

Never a band to shy from making a statement Break the Chains tells the story of the struggle of refugees coming to Australia searching for freedom but instead finding themselves locked away.

The Adelaide 7-piece have come up with a dub influenced reggae song with a catchy hook and politically conscious lyrics - a sound that is becoming characteristic for the band.

The follow up from their 2011 EP ‘Won’t Stand Down’, Break the Chains sees the band naturally progressing into a modern sound which carefully blends a steady groove with soaring horns and a laid back vocal.

After supporting the likes of Nicky Bomba’s Bustamento in 2012, 2013 is looking to be Babylon Burning’s biggest year yet supporting bands such as Sticky Fingers in January and with big plans to tour Melbourne and the East Coast early in the year their energetic live show will be coming to a venue near you.
