Doing what you want to do, and doing it on your own terms - that’s what Smitty & B. Goode are all about.

After rocking the country in 2011 with their second album, Hello Rock ‘n’ Roll, Smitty & B. Goode decided to leave their jobs to focus all their energy on the band. The result is the brand new, self-recorded EP, We’ll Take It From Here.

Clocking in at only eight minutes, We’ll Take It From Here is four tracks of short, sharp, energized rock ‘n’ roll. In December 2011 Smitty & B. Goode set up a makeshift recording studio at St Luke’s Community Centre in Sydney’s Inner West. All the reverbs heard on the recordings are the result of the room’s natural, ambient acoustics. No guitar pedals or effects were used on the recordings, just volume and tone! The recording sessions came to an abrupt end when a priest from the adjoining church burst in and kicked them out!

If the EP has a theme, that theme is living free. It sounds cheesy, but it’s true. Early in 2012, Smitty & B. Goode left behind them the world of nine-to-five, bosses, office politics, rush-hour commuting, working overtime and poor pay to follow their rock ‘n’ roll dream. The songs on this EP are a celebration of their new-found freedom.

Accompanying each song will be a music video made by the band. Each month, beginning in March 2012, a music video and free MP3 download of the song will be made available online. The first video, made for the EP opener Rock ‘n’ Roll Music, will contain documentary-style footage of the band recording the EP.

Since the band’s formation at the arse-end of 2008, Smitty & B. Goode have released two full-length albums; their self-titled debut, and last year’s Hello Rock ‘n’ Roll. Both albums were recorded with Lachlan Mitchell (The Jezebels, The Getaway Plan, Frenzal Rhomb). In 2011, a high-water-mark year for the band, Smitty & B. Goode toured the East Coast of Australia, released a music video that was played on RAGE, received positive Australia-wide press, airplay on Triple J and community radio, and played shows with the legendary Hard Ons!, Screaming Tribesmen, and touring Texans Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears.

Wherever Smitty & B. Goode go they have a good time, kick arse and take names. Their unique mix of classic rock, good humour, and extreme minimalism has won them fans across all ages and music tastes.

This song is soaking with rock n roll swagger. It's catchy, energetic and full of singalong moments. I feel like the production might not do it justi...

This one's soaked in QOTSA rawk'n'roll swagger. There are a few bits of fat that could've been trimmed to keep the energy sustained throughout, but i...
