Dylan Joel, Melbourne’s freshest addition in the ever growing sub culture of Oz Hip-Hop, launched his new EP ‘Kid Illin’ on Friday July 6 to 460 fans at the corner hotel............ That was only his second headline show... ever...

That was the start of what became a massive second half of the year. Since then Dyl has been booked to play some incredible shows including Main Stage at the 2012/13 Pyramid Rock Festival.

But Dylan isn’t getting ahead of himself, instead he’s taking every chance to share his songs with people who might be interested... and constantly finding inspiration to write new ones.

D says, "There is so much good music being made at the moment and everyone has different influences, New York sounds different to LA, London sounds different to Paris, Melbourne sounds different to Auckland - But they all have something good to offer. Being a kid growing up in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne doesn't need to define my style. It's every experience I have that'll define it and I'm just here to hype that up so I can share those experiences with the crowd. So feel free to coast with me as I attempt to flip this kid dream into a reality...”

His new single ‘leveled’ has received great reviews and garnered a lot of support from our good friends at Triple J. Upon debuting the film clip on the home and hosed blog Dom Alessio said “Leveled comes from upstart MC Dylan Joel, a hip-hop loving dude outta Melbourne who recently released his Kid Illin EP. Anchored by a sweet horn lick, 'Leveled' conjures up images of chilling out on summer days, skating or surfing, and just generally loving life.”

The kid is excited about the future, and so are we... You need to make sure you come and check out the kid that everyone is talking about...
