According to founding songwriters Mick and Griff, “Grimick” is a band project that has been developing since junior high school days, where the pair first met and began performing and creating their unique songwriting approach. From an early age, they poured hours into organising and promoting their own gigs, performing at various school related events including the finals of the NSW Schools “Battle of the bands” competition at the Horden Pavilion in ‘95.

After high school the pair continued down the entertainment path. Recognised for his extraordinary vocal range and performance ability, Griff secured the lead role of Jesus, in Jesus Christ Superstar (T.H.E theatre company) in 1998. In that same year, he wrote and performed several songs for the Gospel Album "Great Is Your Love", which sold thousands of copies in America, the U.K, Africa and Australia. From 2003 - 2005 Griff performed to packed houses in the world famous Jenolan Caves "Grand Arch", and in 2004 the pair performed in the musical “Back to the 80’s” (Neil Gooding Productions) at the Evan’s Theatre, Penrith Panthers and the Parramatta River Side Theatre.

In 1999 Mick & Griff were joined by Matt Bulkley (Drums / Percussion) and Dr Warwick Fear (Guitars), as they embarked on a three-and-a-half year cover band project (with the Sphere Agency), performing 2-3 nights a week in the highly competitive Sydney club, pub and corporate scene. The experience left them with confidence in their ability to entertain large crowds, while maintaining a high degree of musicianship. The band quickly gained a reputation for antics, energy on stage, and an ability to impress audiences with their vocal quality, range, and harmonies.

In April of 2004, they completed “Grimick” their self titled debute album, which was fully recorded and produced in their own home studios. They received highly positive critical feedback when tracks from this album were entered in the 2004 Musicoz Awards.

Grimick has spent the last year exploring a more honest, folk/roots based path. All four members have played a crucial part writing and forming the sound for Grimick’s second album, which is just a couple of months away from completion.

An excellent voice is the thing about this very sparse approach. Simple guitar and percussion underpin it all. Cheeky little number Cheers Th...
