“It’s great to see a band playing songs they’ve written with love and abandon, enjoying the gig for the sake of the music.” (2007)
“The guys had a sound that was instantly familiar but somehow not quite plagerised. Their stage energy matched their obviously well-rounded musicianship.” (2008)
“An urban electro hybrid, fusing rock and driving melodies to create an energetic, layered sound.” – THE DRUM MEDIA
“(An) innovative piece of musicianship … This album is really sizzling with speeding current circulating the wires of potential. These guys are just plain cool and really have something awesome to herald here with their debut self-titled full-length album.” – MEDIA SEARCH
“Transit-Inc does have quite a unique sound … The LP is well paced and structured with distinct sections clearly designed to get you off your arse and dance.” – THE DWARF
“If any band about to explode on the Sydney scene has got the goods, it’s Transit-Inc….
Transits’ album is something I’ll be appreciating and listening to for a long time.” - HOTSOURCE
In less than a year, Transit-Inc have caught the attention of critics and music fans alike, confounding some and converting many more to their truly unique sound that is distinct and familiar at once. Brothers Anthony Castellano (lead vocals and bass) and Mark Cass (vocals and drums) along with Rob Russ (vocals and guitar) released their full length self-titled debut album in April of 2008, and since have been steadily building a reputation as a powerful, high energy live act in the Sydney scene.
Transit-Inc’s dynamic songs have been gaining attention from music aficionados since their formation in 2005, as evidenced by their vibrant, captivating “Sown” being voted as one of the Top Ten Songs in the Rock category of the 2007 Music Oz Awards. “Sown” was also featured as the February 2008 HotPick on Hotsource. They placed among the Top 30 acts of this year’s New Artists 2 Radio competition. Their music has been included on the 12th volume of the popular “Grow Your Own” compilation series, released by Foghorn Records, and the song “Start Up” has been featured in numerous videos for the High Five series of Extreme Sports, distributed worldwide by IMG Media, and in videos for Russell Brothers Films. The band was featured on the international website Indie Solo (www.indiesolo.com) as Band of the Day as well as having been a feature band several times on Scout TV.
The band has been refining new songs, moving from their pop beginnings to a harder, edgier sound that will be reflected in an upcoming EP, slated to be released in early 2009!
