Sons et al.
Genre: Indie, Dance
Region: Melbourne, VIC
Members: Nicholas Acquroff, Kyle Tickell, Carey Watkins, Lachie Tickell, Sam Watkins
Sounds Like: the national, The Temper Trap, Interpol
Artist Website: www.facebook.com/sonsetal

A tightly bonded five piece from Melbourne, Sons et al. take all the laid back electronic grooves of Cut/Copy and combine them with the mesmerising rich vocals of The National. With only two huge shows under their belt in Sydney and Melbourne, the band has already gained a reputation for a tight knit and exciting live performance. It’s easy to understand why, when you realise four of the five band members are brothers, with only frontman Nick Acquroff falling out of the family tree.

The band has already recorded their debut EP with English electronic duo DNR (otherwise known as The Slips), having just released their first single ‘See Me Run’. To celebrate, the band will be launching the single at The Toff in Melbourne on the 27th October and Oxford Art Factory Sydney on the 8th November.

Another big track that heralds big things for Sons et al. over the next 12 months.

A great first offering, full of interesting little melodic runs. I'm with MC: keen to hear where you'll go from here.

From the second that synthy staccato sound kicks in, there's an instant hook to this song. Interested to see how these guys will grow.

This is a pretty massive first tune with solid construction and a big build. I reckon I'll be hearing that voice a lot this summer.
