JAYWALKER
"If you like the sound of hit songs, this may very well be your new favorite album of the year. Smooth melodic tracks include "20 Years From Now," "Green Light," and "Crash and Burn." Baby Sue Online Magazine

"Tracks Lost In London and Hard Times set the precedent for the album, centred around singer/songwriter Jason Hicks' award winning vocals, accompanied by a tight band with a tremendous pop sensibility" Reverb Magazine The building blocks for a massive 2010 have been steadily falling into place, with the band – consisting of singer songwriter Jason Hicks, Bob Allan (guitar), James Dennett (drums) and Justin Miranda (bass) – recently supporting the likes of Xavier Rudd, Kate Miller-Heidke, Sarah McLeod, Killing Heidi, Diesel and Jack Jones. Jason Hicks also just took out the award for Best Male Vocal at the 2009 Newcastle Music Awards, whilst the band was nominated in another three categories, following on from their three nominations in 2008. They were also the runners-up of the 2007 ‘People’s Choice’ Category at the Australian Music Oz Awards.

After the success of their self-titled EP and single ‘You Live, You Learn’, Jaywalker recently retreated to the studio with acclaimed producer Stuart Stuart (The Veronicas, Small Mercies) to record the debut album ‘The Light & Shade’, instore nationally February 12.

Says Jason of ‘The Light & Shade’: The album’s name itself came from the variations in the meanings, tempos and dynamics of each of the tracks. Tracks such as ‘Your Finest Hour’, Green Light’ and ‘20 Years From Now’ tend to highlight some of the most uplifting, positive and memorable moments of your life, in contrast ‘Crash and Burn’ and ‘Faces of February talk about some of the darker, challenging areas – the latter being written for and about the people involved in the Victorian Bushfires last year and the amazing strength and courage they showed through it all.
