Electron, has recently completed a full-length, 10 song CD, “Atmospherics”. The music is derived through capturing the energies of rhythms and timbres organically of occurring elements within cities and natural environments throughout the world. These have all been recorded on location specifically for this release and six of the songs were recorded in Prague at Faust Studio (with its “basements of hell”). These sound-scapes, which virtually appear like songs within themselves, have been unified with pulsating synthetic textures and solidly punctuated, processed drum beats, while a good splash of black is also added to the canvas, to create tension and definition.

Electron is a music production company created by Paul Handley; it has been called Electron since 2001. The music Electron creates is by nature, atmospheric and ambient. Many of Electrons projects have been compositions for film, or dance theatre. The songs are often intentionally written to appeal to those occasions where listeners are looking for something to evoke and enhance a mood without it becoming a distraction or main focal point, perhaps while concentrating on a task such as reading, or writing. Sometimes at a later date some of the songs may become incorporated and developed into a more conventional structure in Pauls main band Beltane. With the addition of lyrics and female vocals the original score is redefined and approached from a new perspective, within the realm of Beltanes music www.beltane.com.au

Electron is a recording studio and independent record label based in Adelaide, South Australia. Although primarily constructed to facilitate the music of Paul Handley, of which the two most recent Beltane CDs, “Spell of Harmony” and “World of Dreams”were produced and released, it also offers its services to other musicians and film-makers. www.electron.net.au
