Mt Augustus try to play folk music without all of that boring self importance. Mt Augustus try to play indie rock without all of the preening hipsterdom. Mt Augustus like to play really fucking loudly so that you'll give up trying to talk to your friend at the bar. Mt Augustus like to play really fucking quietly so that you can't hear them unless you stop talking to your friend at the bar. Mt Augustus sometimes play fuzzed up pop music like Neutral Milk Hotel or Weezer. Mt Augustus sometimes play quiet folk music like Low or Elliott Smith. Mt Augustus try to play lots of instruments without any real knowledge of what the hell they're doing. Mt Augustus try to play shows without any of that slick professionalism that is so prevalent elsewhere, but equally without falling apart on stage. Mt Augustus try to write songs about life, love and death while keeping a sense of both humour and wonder. Mt Augustus are a bunch of pretentious twats. Mt Augustus are a group of lovable rogues. Mt Augustus try not to shoot themselves in the foot too often with their self depreciative comments. Mt Augustus try too damn hard to be your favourite band. Mt Augustus don't try hard enough to be your favourite band. Sometimes Mt Augustus can be very trying.

The Warmest Winter
rating:  4/5
This is a very good band, if a paradoxical one. If you didn't know it after you read the bio, you'll know it after listening to this tune.
