Hayley Jensen is a singer/songwriter, originating from Canberra now based in Sydney, Australia, who has independently recorded her debut album ‘Note to Self’ and, has single-handedly just released her first EP single ‘Alive’ - debuting at # 20 on the Australasian ARIA charts & hitting # 2 on the AIR charts.

Her music has lyrical substance, is instrumentally engaging, and anyone who has experienced her live performances will testify that she’s memorable and magnetic on stage.

Hayley has grown from strength to strength to get to where she is today. For as long as she can remember all Hayley ever wanted to be was a singer. From an early age she began playing songs on her keyboard, and naturally singing harmonies along with the radio. This incredible gift helped her win lead roles in school productions and top prizes at local talent quests.

While studying a double degree at University, Hayley attended the ANU School of Music on a scholarship program to study Jazz, where she formed an acoustic trio and began performing original compositions at gigs, and to thousands at local sporting grand finals.

It was in 2004, through sheer determination, depth of character, humility and undeniable talent, Hayley placed 4th in a nationwide talent search/television show.

This was an incredible platform to kick-start Hayley’s musical career, and many within the industry encouraged her to take advantage of this national exposure by quickly releasing a CD. However, she insisted on taking her time to grow as a songwriter and performer. Instead of rushing into a recording studio she chose to spend the following two years song writing and developing further as an artist.

On the roster of the Harbour Booking Agency, Hayley has performed alongside Killing Heidi, The Whitlams and Kasey Chambers (to name a few) at the: Canberra Day Celebrations, The Chief Minister's Command Performance, Concert In The Vineyard, The Future's Festival 2005, The Melbourne Cup Carnival (Sydney), NSW Sports Federation Awards, numerous football Grand Finals, and was ‘The Voice’ of the 2006 Golden Slipper Racing Carnival. Hayley often takes time out to support charities such as the RSPCA, Starlight Foundation & Camp Quality.

Over the Christmas and New year period 2005/06, Hayley, accompanied by Angry Anderson, Beccy Cole, Bessie Bardot and pioneer performer “Little Pattie”, lead the fourth morale-boosting “Tour de Force” concert series held for the coalition forces based in the Middle East. This was a life changing experience for Hayley, and as such she has dedicated the song ‘Only One’ from her debut album to the troupes and their families at home.

Headlining her own shows during 2006, Hayley has been consistently captivating audiences around the country at popular boutique venues such as; The Vanguard, Brass Monkey & Heritage Hotel to name a few with both her acoustic and band performances.

‘Note to Self’ is a world-class album, produced by Matt Fell at LoveHz Studio, Sydney, and mastered by Rick O’Neil (Bob Dylan, Madonna, Kylie, U2). Enchanting strings, driving guitar riffs and layer upon layer of carefully constructed sound samples & vocal harmonies bring ‘Note to Self’ to life, and the first EP single to be released from the album is ‘Alive’.

‘Alive’ is a very personal song for me… it was written at a turning point in my life.
There’s always going to be someone trying to bring you down, tell you that you can’t be or achieve something significant… this song is about never giving up”
