Waiter's unique sound draws upon a rich tapestry of ethnic folk weaved with an unmistakable rockin' core. Escalating vocal textures, driving rhythms and melodic guitar lines characterise the music of Waiter.

Following gigs including the Falls Festival 2005 and the Festival of Folk, Rhythm and Life 2005 Waiter’s schedule in 2006 has included solid touring of Tasmania and the mainland, playing a mix of acoustic and full blown electrically charged sets including The Basement in Sydney and supports with Faker and TZU.

Waiter head back to Victoria in December for the Festival of Folk, Rhythm and Life 2006 and tour Queensland and WA in late 2006/early 2007.

Waiter's debut album 'Moving Objects' (TLA Records/MGM Distribution) was released in July 2005. Produced by ARIA award winning Anton Hagop (Silverchair, Powderfinger and Superjesus), George Goerss and Waiter, the single 'Epsilon' featured in Triple J's 'Next Crop' and the album received the 2005 Best Tasmanian CD Release award at the AMPLIFIED Music Festival 2005.

Waiter's 2003 EP 'In The Sand' (TLA Records) was produced by Tony Cohen (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and The Cruel Sea), George Goerss and Waiter, and the single 'No Before Now' was selected for the Australian youth media festival ‘Noise’.

Waiter is sitting on some very new and exciting material that has been longing to see the light of day. Behind closed doors preparations are underway for a third follow up recording to begin shortly; hopefully in time for a release in early 2007. Watch out for a band that doesn't fit the mold as they hit the road again in October in Tasmania and interstate in December.

A soft Metal if that exists. The rhythmic base is powerful and the main vocals have some unexpected twists. I quite liked it.

Very seventies, reminds me of the Easy Rider soundtrack. Pretty, melodic, bit thin.
