The sea thieves are a collective that evolves around Adelaide native Zac Coligan
(ex-bergerac) and began as a duo with wife Naomi Thompson in 2003 under the
moniker "Eiderdown". The sea thieves debut record 'hiding in the shade' was written,
recorded, produced and mixed by Zac and Naomi. The sea thieves released their debut
'hiding in the shade" in May 2008 and it was pressed, promoted and distributed by
Australia's biggest independent record label Inertia. In the first week of release the
iTunes crew were so enthused about the release that they included it on a banner at the top
of the page shared with the latest Coldplay and U2 releases. HITS received excellent
reviews (see attached) and was picked up by and Triple J and local radio stations around
the country. Caroline Tran of Triple J has been especially kind .On the first week of
release on the unearthed website, Chris Taylor (The Chaser, CNNNN,
The Race Race) was a guest reviewer and gave the single an amazingly positive review.
For the sea thieves second record, Zac enlisted some old friends to help with the process and
received a grant from Arts SA. They will run" was written, produced, mixed and
recorded by Zac Coligan and the amazing Jed Palmer (Alarm Birds,
Bergerac). The beautiful Naomi Thompson added vocals, the debonair Steve Griffiths
(The Sirens Of Venice (Ex - Gersey), Bergerac) played drums and percussion
and the suave Zoe Barry (Alarm Birds, Bergerac) added cello and piano.

There's just something so fragile and beautiful about the way you've built this song. Tip of the hat to you, sir.

A song from the ghosts; hauntingly beautiful.

So many good elements to the song. Nice pseudo beginning, and then moves into a swinging tune. The saw violin is a great touch. Gritty with character.

Why this band isn't a household name, I don't know. Beautiful.
