Sleep Intense (previously 98% Uncertain) are a four piece progressive rock/alternative/metal band from the lower Blue Mountains. They are 16 and 17 years of age and consist of Tom Liehr- lead vocals/guitar, Eddie Boyd- lead guitar/vocals, Alex Sherden- Bass guitar, and Andy Nielson- drums.
Tom, Eddie and Alex have been playing together for almost 4 years now and have been through three different drummers. Since Andy joined the band in early 2008, they have become a much tighter act.
Having played at such events as the state wide band competition Youth Rock in `06, `07, and `08; as well as the Sydney Royal Easter Show in `07, and `08, the band’s technical and performance ability has improved greatly over the past 3 years.
Taking out the UNICEF best and youngest award in Youth Rock `07 as 98% Uncertain, the band became unofficial UNICEF ambassadors.
Sleep Intense’s sound is unique with each original song different from the next. This can be attributed to their wide range of musical influences from classical and flamenco music to hardcore metal.
Sleep Intense are a band to look out for in the future and are quickly gathering a strong fan base. They are currently in the process of recording a demo CD with the help of their music teacher Mr Blewitt.
