It was 2005 that the 15 year old boys were shoved together to perform a Beatles tribute concert in the Northmead High school hall. It was playing that music (and possibly the screaming girls) that inspired them to form ‘Northwalk’.

Now 4 years later; Jonathon Holmes, David O’Reilly, Mitchell Ryan and Martin Zazvonil are all, legally, grown up; and are making their own style of rock together (but still performing to screaming girls).

Northwalk truly come alive on stage. They have been playing to large audiences since the beginnings of their career and work the crowd. Playing in venues around Sydney including Parramatta Riverside Theatre, The Metro Theatre and Sydney Town Hall, they are quoted on their “high energy”.

Their first CD ‘SELFtitled’ was recorded by themselves in 2007 and their second ‘The Lights’ in 2008, both receiving regular local radio airplay. Their song Routine Blues got to 25 in the Triple J Unearthed charts.

This year, they released a brand new song ‘Hate To Say It’ as a free download on their website, which coincided with its’ debut film clip from the band. It appeared on US compilation album ‘Riot on Sunset Vol. 16’ and soon on ‘Rock 4 Life’.

Northwalk continue to gig wherever they can to “spread the rock around”. And you know you want some.
