Bang! Bang! Rock n Roll
Claire plays loud, fast, smooth, handsome rock (the kind that sticks in your brain). “It's like a delicious cupcake for your ears.” – a fan, probably.
Claire is a band that defies description – in a good way. Forming in late 2008 under the watchful eyes of friends and alcohol by Ben Crofts (vocals/keys/guitar/bass) and Brigitte Greene (guitar/bass) – the band in its current form materialised once Tom Lord (guitar/bass) and Josh Baissari (drums/vocals) were enlisted.
Claire takes inspiration from the greats – The White Stripes, Muse, Queen, The Black Keys – and then spins it out of control. Words such as “refreshing”, “original”, “exciting”, “progressive”, and “enigmatic” are frequently thrown around between fans and reviewers alike.
Despite garnering comparisons to an eclectic mix of artists – including Muse, Arctic Monkeys, and Foals – Claire have made a distinct effort to carve out their own niche in a scene where originality and innovation are hard to come by. Their ability to share a bill and hold their own against such acts as Art vs Science, Regurgitator, Dead Letter Circus, Bag Raiders, and The Beards is testament to Claire’s versatility.
Individually, the musicianship of Claire’s members is impressive. After playing the Metro in 2011, one reviewer remarked at the deftness with which members continuously swapped instruments during the show. “[They] play even these supporting roles more fluently than regular groups do with their first.”
Claire has been known to get even the most cynical hipsters toe-tapping on the dancefloor with their infectious brand of alternative rock. Rewarding spiritually and psychologically, Claire guarantees a show that will leave you nothing but super jazzed.

Lots of things to compliment here. Each instrument makes a telling contribution, but it never feels like an overblown virtuoso parade. I like how the...

Storms in like something from side B of Nevermind, but there's much more to this than pure punk fury. Most bands would have steamrolled that song at...
