Jasmine Riley and the Distractions emerged on the Perth music scene in January ’11 with an awesome debut at Mojo’s.
Jasmine’s original tunes have been fleshed out and strengthened by incredible talents of the Distractions, who are Chris Summerfield on guitar and slide guitar, Josh van Bruchem on drums and percussion and Nicole Hobby on viola.
Their style has been described as ‘strong, yet vulnerable,’ ‘intimate,’ and ‘emotional,’ with lyrics that are easy to identify with and, well, just plain honest. In terms of genre, they float somewhere in the realms of folk and alternative rock.
