"Kate has a way with words that is just delightful. It is as if she is actually a short story author, it just so happens she is a great muso as well." Robyn Jarman, The Stix

Kate Rowe began performing in Paris while working as an English teacher at the Sorbonne in 2000. She now lives in the Blue Mountains: recent gigs include her sell-out album launch at the Clarendon, the Cygnet Music Festival, and the Blue Mountains Music Festival in early 2008. Kate's album 'The Simplest of Things' is a mélange of lyrical ballads and whimsical observations.

Apart from performing Kate has been variously employed as a book illustrator, cartoonist, high-school French teacher, children's party fairy, piano teacher, radio presenter and a saleswoman in a kitchenware shop... experiences which fuel her quirky songwriting and her engaging onstage presence.

The list of influences says it all. Revell in the silliness and hum along.

Beautiful. Meaningful and poignant. 'The owl also takes flight'... What a fantastic lyricist. Where has she been all this time?
