WORK IT OUT MUSIC VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHEa3uXHOq8

Orca! Straight Ahead! have just finished completing their follow up to their wildly successful(lol) debut EP "You Can't Say We Didn't Try" (2010).

What took us so long? Well, having blown our budget on that awesome EP and the amazing video at the top of the page, we decided/had to record our next EP in various bedrooms and garages. Having written/recorded/mixed/produced all 6 tracks ourselves we can't wait to write that in the credits of the new EP. But it was mastered by Don Bartley (Metallica, British India, Silverchair, Duran Duran). So we can't take all the credit.

So what is the new EP called? We thought the only appropriate follow up name would be "We Tried And Failed". We Tried And Failed is a diverse collection of songs that sprawl across the genres of pop, rock, dance, metal, folk, instrumental and experimental music. You better believe talkbox, accordian and banjo go together! Because we did that in a song! To fans of the band it will be a mixture of the familiar with a large serving of "WTF is this?".

The EP will be launched in August. Launch night details will come later in the year. In the mean time, enjoy the track "Computer Love". The concept behind the EP is 'expected the unexpected, but also expect the expected because some songs we think you'll expect of us so we expected that and wrote one or two expected songs for the EP'. Computer Love is one such song. We expect you to dance and reinstall ICQ.

Until then, you can watch us busk regularly in Pitt St Mall. You'll know it is us because we are the only band to cover Tupac (sans hologram) and Snoop Dog. We love busking. We did a whole busking tour earlier in the year. It is just like begging except instead of saying "got any spare change?" you say "CALIFORNIA LOOOOVE!".

Love,

John Oddy & John E.Q.
