Having followed Hunz since the demo scene I have always been entranced by the quality of his voice and his ingenuity with the musical tools at his disposal. This is another outstanding track (although not his best). Always interesting and thought provoking with a harmonic edge that keeps you singing along well after the song has finished. Brooding and celebratory all in one. Love it.
Like others have mentioned before, definitely reminiscent of Radiohead. But hunz without a doubt have their own personal sound. The song is great melodic electronica. Definitely one of my favourite new artists!
i am a huge fan of hunz's live performances and the messenger is a great reason why that is the case. the blips in the chorus are quite interesting and the melody keeps the listener's attention for the duration. what is lacking is the intensity and energy of the live performance. in my opinion the live drums, though often understated, is half of what hunz's live performance is all about.
love how the verse sucks you in then spits you out with a groove filled chorus. Gets stuck in your head
Funky moody electro pop with a chip-tune twist, Hunz dazzles with sublime sweetness in such a sweep leaving you breathless on the dancefloor and wanting more. And just in case you think this pop is too disposable, check out the emotion in that dark bassline, the cyclonic computerized melodies, and the introspective lyrics. The barrier has been shaken, and Hunz grooves us out with some thoughts that really do move.
It's not a killer track, but the sonic ideas here are all positive. I reckon it's just a matter of time before the hits start flowing for this guy.
Musically this reminds me a lot of Radiohead while the vocals have a bit of a crooning Jeff Buckley feel. But while the comparisons can be made this is also a tune that totally stands on it's own. There's a warmth to the delivery to counter the sombre backing track. And lots of nice rhythmic bits.
Breathtakingly sublime. Without wanting to put the hype hex on them, Hunz are undoubtedly one of the standout packages of this unearthed competition. The gorgeous vocals call Thom Yorke to mind, while the Aphex Twin influence shines through clearly without coming across as imitative. Edgy, cold, yet beautiful. Close your eyes and be engulfed by the shimmering soundscapes!
Beautiful track... continues Hunz inspiring output over recent years. Electronic music with humanity and soul that lifts you out the physical space you inhabit and allows you to wander through the lofty parts of the mind - the parts that dream, hope and nurture. big thumbs up.
Thom Yorke wishes he wrote this. With staccato beats rolling through the song and unintelligible lyrics haunting the melody this is probably my favorite of the 3 Hunz songs on here. In my opinion not quite Hunz's best work (but close to it) but it's tough to better yourself when you're this good.
A brilliant tune, reminds me of Bjork's "Joga", particularly in the spacious choruses and huge bass lines. The drum programming in the chorus is also brilliant, reminiscent of Aphex Twin. Unfortunately, though containing some brilliant Radiohead-esque melodies, the verses are not near as memorable as the choruses.
sounds great, can't wait to hear a full album!!!
I like the smooth vocals and effortless merging of the sounds. However, this particular track sounds very much like radiohead's later works (KidA, Hail to the Theif).
Amazing song and mix between the melancholy of the vocals and beat. Saw them in Brisbane; that's a band to follow! Bravo!
A really sumptuous, intriguing mix of beautiful jazzy emotive vocals with grungy futuristic beats. Can't really imagine dancing to it though, more like chilling out sitting in a field somewhere...(do they still exist in this drought?? lol)...
Unique, fresh, alternative sound; Mechanical and organic at the same time. Reminiscent of Nine Inch Nails, Kate Bush and Amon Tobin all at the same time.
i want to hear more like this
I listen to this track everyday. The deep melodies mashed with the edgy electronics, impossible drum beat and yearning vocals is like nothing I've heard before.
Hunz is an amazing musical Visionary!
Hunz is amazing when you listen to his tracks, but he is even more amazing live. Delicate yet intense, amazing programming skills, beautiful stuff!
Why isn't this band famous yet?
An awesome glitchy drum beat. Everything just fits in and matches with each other so well. The vocals, bass line, and chimes just set a addictive haunting mood. Sit back and coast, this one will make your mind drift.
Disgustingly Beautiful! When are these guys going to release something... I want it!
i love this sound love the melody his voice great and i like the sound effects great work keep it up
Another classic track from Hunz let down for me slightly by some muddy sound in the bass registers. Otherwise, a great track with Björk overtones flowing through it. Quirky and unusual. But where is "Soon, soon"?
I enjoy the soundscapes on this track, however I don't find the melodies are as engaging as Hunz's other work. The track's outro is brilliant rhythmically and melodically however.
Hunz is my new favourite artist. This is a fantastic tune
We say hello to hunz... like the layers, like the beats, like the sentiment!
Wonderful, well controlled vocals, with a nice beat and glitches that fill up up the corners. Love the vocal in the outro.
