"Great songs, great singer, really strong band. My discovery of the Bridgetown Blues festival" Marty Jones, Rhythms Magazine Managing Editor (Aust)

"Another WA success story" Bronwyn Thompson, Blunt Magazine (Aust)

“Their second EP [At Last] is a showcase of traditional music, solid songwriting and enchanting performances. Four Stars" Judith Whitfield, Newcastle Herald (NSW)

"Well crafted music from a talented group of people. It's easy to imagine a dusty old saloon where front woman Bec Chilcott croons away, almost effortlessly with one of the best bands in the west" Nils Hay, Rave Magazine (Qld)

“Local country/folk rock outfit Ruby Boots more than earned a big ovation…they have a sound that should play well in the US” Simon Collins, The West Australian

After rolling out with the “Devil” midway last year, (heard a few times on Roots ‘n’ All), award winning six-piece Ruby Boots are back with “Wise Up”.

It’s a tale of those who would do wrong by others only to then get caught out and forced to Wise Up. Set to a musical bed that starts with simple acoustic picking, the song swells to a soaring chorus that gives the scales a good work out and then winds down with a great 50’s styled lead guitar.

A growing buzz on the west coast that’s started drifting east, it’s no secret that the Boots gang have had a fun 12 months with festival dates including the Big Day Out and Laneway, support performances including The Waifs and Wagons, a WAMi Music award and industry showcases in Sydney & Melbourne

Electric and acoustic guitars, banjo, mandolin, violin, washboard, keys, bass, drums and vocal harmonies are all the hallmarks behind the Ruby Boots sound. There’s something of a resurgence in trad-roots and Ruby Boots are right in the centre. Chain-gang chants and blues guitar through to western-swing and honky tonk piano, then across to folk-pop and alt-country, it’s all captured on their two EP's, the latest being “At Last”, engineered & coproduced by The Novocaines’ Corey Marriott at Perth's Ampersonic Studios in 2011 and released through Walking Horse/ MGM. Look out for them.
