R.I.P - 2010 - 2012
Since forming in early 2010, Summerset Avenue have been taking Australia by storm. During their first four months as a band, Summerset Avenue had already played their first two shows and set off to the USA to record their debut EP with Mike Watts (Story Of The Year, As Tall As Lions) and Mike Picotte (Sweetwater Sound) at VuVu Studios, New York. 2010 also saw the band get recognition from Joel Madden of Good Charlotte for their cover of ‘Like It’s Her Birthday’ on YouTube with Joel Madden tweeting to his 500,000 + followers to check it out
2011 saw Summerset Avenue gain Triple J airplay for their single ‘You’ll Never Be…’ and head back to the U.S.A to play SXSW Festival in Austin Texas. Upon their return to Australia the band gained support slots for bands such as These Kids Wear Crowns (Canada), 28 Days, Trial Kennedy, Tonight Alive, Heroes For Hire, Closure In Moscow, Dead Letter Circus, Red Ink, Dream On, Dreamer and The Red Shore. Summerset Avenue also released an Acoustic Covers EP in May 2011 as a Free Download for their fans to say Thank You for all the support over the bands first year. The band finished out the year with headlining shows through-out Melbourne, Adelaide and Regional Victoria
2012 has been Summerset Avenue’s biggest year to date starting the year with the release of their single ‘Down South’ in January which received Triple J airplay and was also featured on Compilation CD’s for Blunt and Hysteria Magazine in Australia. It has also seen the band play some of its biggest shows to date gaining supports for Silverstein (Canada), Cartel (U.S.A), Hawthorne Heights (U.S.A), The Getaway Plan, Kisschasy, Hands Like Houses, Break Even, For Our Hero and D At Sea as well as headlining shows across the country at respected venues. Towards the end of the year they released two new singles, 'ASAP' & 'Count Me In' both of which were Produced and Engineered by Forrester Savell & Dan Murtagh at Sing Sing Studios, Melbourne, Australia. 'ASAP' was featured on the Blunt Magazine Christmas Party DVD along-side bands such as I Killed The Prom Queen, Bring Me The Horizon and many more! Summerset Avenue shocked fans with a surprise break up in late 2012

Love the accent. Brings a nice homely touch in an industry dominated by a lot of bands sounding exactly the same as each other. I want more!
