The Ghost Hotel present their debut album "Maiden Hill", eleven tracks for lovers of country-tinged rock n roll, with equal doses of Americana and Australiana influences. The Perth-based five-piece have had an amazing past couple of years, being Unearthed by triple j and chosen to support Powderfinger on the first show of their farewell tour, and performing at festivals such The Big Day Out, West Coast Blues and Roots and Southbound. The band has also recently supported the likes of Cold Chisel, Crowded House, Elbow, Okkervil River, Gomez, You Am I and many more, and received triple j rotation for their track "She Said, She Said" from their self-titled EP.

Featuring some of the Perth original music scene's most respected songwriters (including members of Red Jezebel & Capital City), The Ghost Hotel are a five-piece mixture of rough and ready guitar noise, acoustic twang and pop sensibility. The current lineup of the band formed in 2008, following various incarnations based around founding member Aaron Gibson’s songwriting.
In late 2009, the band released its self-titled EP on the Perth-based label Walking Horse Records, leading to a support slot on the first show of Powderfinger‘s farewell tour in Newcastle courtesy of triple j Unearthed, and a five-star review from the station’s Music Director Richard Kingsmill.
Now, “Maiden Hill” has arrived and displays the band’s songwriting brilliance at its peak. Come and stay for a while The Ghost Hotel make the noise and the quiet for lovers of guitar driven pop-rock and country.

“like the soundtrack to the best Western you’ve never seen” X-Press Magazine, Perth
“Everything that’s still so great about rock and roll” - DRUM Media Perth
“The band meshed together pop, indie, country and a healthy dose of rock’n’roll, though never sounded disjointed in spite of having several angles. They were, in fact, fuckin’ rad.” – Xpress Magazine, Perth
“…could have come straight out of the middle of America, but still reeks of classic Australian rock – a hard balance to achieve, but it sounds like The Ghost Hotel have nailed it with ease.” – Time Off Magazine, Brisbane
“…overflowing with songwriters and harmonies to stop you dead…With the personnel, there’s no way it could be bad, but it might not have been this damn good.” – Drum Media, Sydney
“great guitar work, splendid vocals and some incredibly well written songs” aureview.com.au
“These guys are great…Impressive stuff. Check in and check 'em out fast.” – Richard Kingsmill, Triple J

Another stellar song from The Ghost Hotel. This band rarely puts a foot wrong.

Take Me Home

This is one of the best alt-country songs I've heard in a long time. Dirty, bluesy, with big choruses and a rolling swagger.

These guys are great. I've been shockingly slow to realise. As Max would say, "Sorry 'bout that chief". But I have their EP now and this song off it ...
