In the 18th century William Blake penned a poem called "Now Art Has Lost it's Mental Charms". Now centuries later that piece of work has provided inspiration for hard hitting Brisbane outfit The Mental Charms.

It may seem like an odd comparison, but as they explain, they draw inspiration from Blake’s lament about the loss of integrity in the modern artists of his time – something that the band fe...els connects with much of todays music.

This is a band that draws inspiration from a time when artists seemed more ‘real’. You could call it old school rock and blues, but there is more to it than that. For these guys being in a band truly is all about the music, not the hype.

It’s little wonder they look to bands like Dylan, The Doors, Floyd and Nirvana for inspiration.

Over the past year they have emerged from their hometowns of Redcliffe and Kallangur as the real deal and started making an impact in the local underground music scene, filling venues and showcasing their foot to the floor rock shows.….

With their out of control wildfire attitude, poetic lyrics and kool distinct catchy sound, these guys are dedicated to one thing and one thing only.......getting their music heard.

If you haven't witnessed a Mental Charms experience yet, then be sure not to miss out. It will be an experience you will be sure not to forget....
