Walkabout Boys were formed in early 2007 when they were drawn together by their shared passion for music and a drive to build stronger relationships within their community, Yiyili, in the Kimberley Region of Western Australia.

Since then the band has gone from strength to strength, performing across West Australia. Walkabout Boys have burst forward onto the music scene with some great original material, which has seen them recognised as shining new talent in the Kimberley when they won the 2008 Kullarri NAIDOC Battle of the Artists held in Broome. In 2009, they were nominated in the inaugural WA “Too Solid Awards” for Best Bass Player, Guitarist and Drummer.

State Grand Finalists in the 2009 Next Big Thing, 2010 WAM Song of the Year and 2011 WAM Indigenous Artist of the Year, the Walkabout Boys have a fresh sound with elements of Rock, Reggae and Country uniquely blended to reflect the environment that surrounds them. Their debut CD “You’re the One” was released in April 2010, and is available through Skinnyfish Music and at all good music outlets, The Walkabout Boys bring with them a commitment and enthusiasm for music and are ready to take their music to the world.

Like their sound very much. Beat and words are very catching. Good harmonies. Shall be fun to watch them mature with more airplay.
