Employing acoustic bases with a melodic backline, dynamic drumming and lead lines ranging from atmospheric to blistering, ‘a grand dynamic’ creates tactile compositions. Songs range from heartfelt ballads, to blues based rock, to atmospheric desert rock.
With 3 different songwriters in the group, 'a grand dynamic' seek to generate music that rises and falls with as much intensity as it does emotion. The smooth, solid bass lines and infectious melodies of this Melbourne 4 piece allow them to unite with their audience while mesmerising the listeners for the entirety of the experience.
'a grand dynamic' formed in 2004, however the foundations of the band were set in 1998 when Aaron, Heath & Jim started university in the township of Ballarat, Victoria. Through mutual acquaintances, the trio soon found themselves close friends and creating music together. From this initial friendship and through several bands both collaboratively and separately, they cultivated a presence and grace that emanates from all members. The assemblage combines many different musical influences along the way, including: Gomez, Dredg, Silverchair, Led Zeppelin & The Tea Party just to name a handful.
By mid-2004, it was decided that it was time for 'a grand dynamic' to share their music with the outside world, and they teamed up with Matt (drummer for 'A Beautiful Disaster'). At the beginning of 2005 Jim moved to London, and ‘a grand dynamic’ were proud to include Andie Fitzpatrick as their new bass player. With the line-up now settled, 'a grand dynamic' are now taking their music and style to venues Victoria wide.
”Plenty to like about this band ... and this song will serve them very well on their way to what would seem fairly inevitable success.” Dr Ian Grouse, 3CR Radio in relation to ‘a grand dynamic’ track “Second Hand”.

I love the mood of this track, it reminds me of apples and lying in the grass under a tree, on a summers afternoon, feeling tall blades of grass occa...

I quite like this track. It's different to the barrage of rubbish that I hear. It's definitely a song that could go either way, but I think AGD do it...
