Ethereal indie-folk songstress Amy Vee holds a staunch Australian music presence; performing tirelessly in her home country and overseas for nearly a decade.
Since the launch of her award-winning EP Sleeping Dogs Lie in late 2009 (incl. 1233 ABC/APRA Songwriters Recognition Award), Vee has performed scores of live shows around the country. Vee’s tenacity was exemplified in 2010 when she single-handedly embarked on a month-long tour of England and Scotland.
"...when she starts to sing, you realise that this demure Australian is anything but ordinary." - Wohomusic, UK
Amy has performed countless gigs and festivals as a soloist and occassionally with a host of hand-picked band members. Amy has opened for a variety of Aussie and international acts, including Newton Faulkner (UK), Luka Bloom (Ireland), Hawksley Workman (Canada), An Horse (USA), Passenger (UK), Bertie Blackman, Mark Seymour, and many more.
Amy's performances are often lauded as being humble and enchanting, with tasteful use of live loops, multi-instrumentation and story-telling.
“Along with Laura Marling, Lisa Mitchell and Florence and the Machine, Amy Vee has made a sterling contribution to the recent surge of female-fronted folk music” - The AU Review.
Amy spent much of 2011/12 as a sought after performer and multi-instrumentalist, including a national tour as keyboardist/guitarist/vocalist in Tim Freedman & The Idle (led by The Whitlams’ frontman) and performer in ARIA nominated The Rock Show, a touring theatrical spectacular produced by and starring Aus music stalwart, Jon English.
Amy’s debut solo album, “Fits And Starts” is due for national release on 19 April 2013.

Lovely ghostly folk. Double bass thumping always makes everything that bit more charming.
